CCJs. A Growing Issue.

County Court Judgments (CCJs) are reported to be on the rise in the UK. A growing number of consumers are finding themselves facing colossal debt problems which are leading to legal action.

Recent reports have indicated that nearly 850,000 individuals had CCJs registered against them last year. These latest figures simply underline the current situation surrounding CCJs. This figure marks the second consecutive year of increase, prompting concern over debt levels in the UK.

CCJs are being filed earlier than in the past, as lenders seek to recover lost revenue from financially constrained borrowers. In the past many lenders would be happy to entertain various methods to assist the borrower to repay any outstanding amounts owed. This is not the case in today’s current climates.

One expert explained how creditors are using CCJs to recover monies owed to them. This method of applying CCJs can be a far more efficient way for the lender to recover their money. However, CCJs are extremely damaging to the borrowers credit.

CCJs are widely regarded as “risky” when it comes to lenders considering a borrower for potential lending. However, there are many lenders out there offering services specifically for those with CCJs and bad credit problems.
